What are Bone Marrow Tests? | Dr. Panchal Lab and Diagnostics | Diagnostic Centre in Borivali

Bone marrow tests determine whether or not your bone marrow is healthy and produces adequate blood cells. Aspiration and biopsy are the two bone marrow tests.
A bone marrow aspiration is a procedure in which your doctor takes a little quantity of fluid bone marrow using a needle. A microscope is used to analyze the sample for defective cells.
A bone marrow biopsy may be performed concurrently or after an aspiration. Your doctor will use a needle to extract a small sample of bone marrow tissue for this test. The tissue is evaluated to determine the amount and kind of bone marrow cells.
If blood testing reveals the source of your hemolytic anemia, you may not require bone marrow tests.
